Job Description: Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT)
The Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT) is responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on various types of aircraft, ensuring their safe and efficient operation. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and compliance with established aviation regulations and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform routine maintenance inspections, repairs, and modifications on aircraft systems, including airframe, engines, electrical, and avionics components.
2. Conduct troubleshooting and diagnostic procedures to identify and rectify aircraft malfunctions or abnormalities.
3. Adhere to maintenance manuals, technical drawings, and engineering specifications to ensure accurate and compliant repair procedures.
4. Perform required documentation and record-keeping activities, including maintenance logs, work orders, and compliance reports.
5. Collaborate with other maintenance technicians, engineers, and support staff to ensure effective workflow and timely completion of maintenance tasks.
6. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring proper storage and handling of tools, equipment, and aircraft parts.
7. Follow all safety protocols and procedures to minimize workplace hazards and ensure a safe working environment.
8. Stay updated with industry advancements, technological changes, and regulatory requirements through continuous learning and training programs.
9. Participate in aircraft inspections, pre-flight checks, and post-maintenance testing to ensure aircraft airworthiness and compliance with regulatory standards.
10. Comply with all company policies, government regulations, and industry best practices to ensure the highest level of quality and safety in aircraft maintenance.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent education.
2. FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license or equivalent certification.
3. Minimum of X years of experience as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician, preferably in the aviation or aerospace industry.
4. Proficient knowledge of aircraft systems, components, and maintenance procedures.
5. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve technical issues effectively.
6. Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow technical manuals, drawings, and specifications precisely.
7. Solid understanding of aviation regulations, airworthiness directives, and maintenance documentation requirements.
8. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment, demonstrating good interpersonal and communication skills.
9. Physical fitness and ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in various weather conditions.
10. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by operational needs.
